My grandmother is 73 years old. She used to play sudoku in the newspaper, but she hasn't played in years. I thought she would be the perfect person to run this trial on because she used to love this game. For one week I had her play this game on her computer for 20 minutes. She doesn't really know much about her computer anymore so I would set it up for her the first couple days.

Trial 1: The first day I was walking her through the whole process just to familiarize her with using the computer and the game. She got the hang of it pretty quickly since she used to use computers when she worked in a travel agency. All it took was a reminder of the basics. She did okay the first day but we didn't finish the puzzle in 20 minutes.

Conclusion: The first four days I was helping my grandma get the game started, on day five however she set it up by herself and then the sixth and seventh day she also didn't need any help. She also started completing the puzzle quicker as the days went by. The first day she completed the game in 20 minutes was day three.  After that she completed the sudoku puzzle in under 20 minutes each time. These trials showed me that by practicing a brain game such as sodoku you can help keep your brain healthy and reawaken skills you used to have.
